The hands of Lewis and Clark are mounted in a ring with a bas-relief base. The hands are from the monument “When They Shook Hands, the Lewis and Clark Expedition Began.” A handshake was the bond between Captains Lewis and Clark as they joined forces to proceed to the Pacific on one of the world’s greatest exploring expeditions. Names of expedition members are written on the steps. The front states the years of the Lewis and Clark Expedition(1803-1806) and Bicentennial(2003-2006). It is 32” tall - 24 “ wide- 6” deep.
